With 2,558 meters, the Gorfenspitze is not only one of the two local mountains of Galtür but also a distinctive landmark above the valley. From the summit, visitors are rewarded with extensive views of a mountain landscape full of stories. The nickname "Weiberhimml" dates back to a time when in Galtür the men did the field work – unlike in other villages where women also had to work. Those who married in Galtür were considered to have "found heaven" – a proverb that lives on to this day. The viewing point is accessible year-round and offers impressive views of the Gorfenspitze and the Paznaun Valley.
