LOADING OF OLD GONDOLAS + DELIVERY OF NEW TOWER COMPONENTS

May 5 – May 15, 2025

A lot has happened in the past few days on the construction site of the new Diasbahn in Kappl. The removal of the old operating equipment is in full swing – the former cable car gondolas have been loaded onto trucks and, after undergoing a thorough technical refurbishment, will be reused at another location. The “rope support assemblies” (also known as roller batteries), which guide the cable along the towers, were also loaded with great care – these heavy yet sensitive components require precise handling and coordination during transport.

At the same time, work on the stations is progressing rapidly. At the bottom station, additional foundations have been poured, the first vertical supports have been installed, and the structure is gradually becoming visible. At the top station, the future layout is now also clearly taking shape.

A striking moment is the loading of the new tower components: what often appears slim and delicate from a distance reveals its true size when placed next to a person. With every construction step, the complexity and scale of this project become more tangible. One thing is clear: the new Diasbahn continues to grow!

LOADING OF OLD GONDOLAS

The old operating equipment – the gondolas of the previous Diasbahn – is being loaded onto trucks. After professional refurbishment, these gondolas will be used again elsewhere. In this way, a part of the former installation gets a second life – sustainable and resource-efficient.

TOWER COMPONENTS: OLD VS. NEW

A side-by-side comparison of old and new tower elements makes the difference in scale clearly visible. The significantly larger diameter of the new components highlights the technical evolution and modern dimensions of the new cable car system.

DELIVERY OF ROLLER BATTERIES

When loading a so-called roller battery – the component that carries and guides the cable along the towers – absolute precision is required. Despite their robust construction, these elements are technically sensitive and must be handled with great care to ensure safe and damage-free transport.

BOTTOM STATION

Work at the bottom station is progressing steadily. Additional foundation sections have been completed, and the first support columns of the future building are already in place. Step by step, the new station structure is emerging from the ground and becoming increasingly visible.

TOP STATION

Significant progress is also being made at the top station. The first outlines of the future building are now clearly visible, and the layout of the station is gradually taking shape in the terrain.
