The expansion of the infrastructure is the focus, both on the terrain and directly at the stations. An important section at the valley station has been completed: the so-called turnaround area is finished. At the same time, construction work has begun on the future administration building. This part of the building is also taking shape.
Along the route, utility lines are currently being installed. A walking excavator is being used here, which is particularly well suited for steep and difficult terrain. This allows the work to be carried out efficiently and with minimal impact on the landscape.
A first step has also been taken at the site of the future pedestrian crossing. A specialized drilling machine is currently boring up to ten meters deep into the ground to install stable piles for the bridge foundation. These will later support the bridge structure and ensure a long-lasting and secure anchoring in the terrain.
There is also visible progress at the top station. A layer of bitumen has been applied to the first ceiling slab. This reliably protects the underlying structure from moisture and forms the basis for further construction above.
You can feel how everything connects: day by day, more details and components come together to ensure the future safe and seamless operation of the new Diasbahn.
