Three new chairlifts

Three new 8-seat chairlifts with weather protection hoods and heated seats in the Silvretta Arena by winter 2026/2027

The Silvrettaseilbahn AG is investing 50 MM Euro in improving the comfort and convenience of the ski area, and will construct the replacement lifts HÖLLBODEN C1 and SASSGALUN C3 in summer 2025 and HÖLLKAR C2 in summer 2026.

Since going into operation, these 3 lifts have transported more than 83 m avid winter sports fans in total.
All 3 chairlifts feature entry and exit monitoring (AURO: Autonomous Ropeway Operation) by Doppelmayr, a first for the Silvretta Arena.

The Höllkar- and Sassgalun lifts are being built on the same route.
The upper terminus of the new Höllboden lift will be built around 500 m east of Idalp in a new location between pistes 10 and 11, just above the Idalp.

The new routing of the planned Höllboden lift and the new location for the upper terminus opposite the existing Höllboden 8-seat chairlift aim to ensure that the crossing of the skiers and winter sports fans in the area around the upper terminus Höllboden/Idalp is significantly improved.
All roofs of the new cable cars will have solar panels installed, with a total area of 1,200 m² and total power of 274.5 kWp.

LARETBAHN L3

SAMNAUN

10-Person D-Line Gondola Lift LARET–CHAMPS–MULLER in Samnaun

On March 30, 2026, the Swiss Federal Office of Transport (FOT) granted both the concession and planning approval for the construction of the new 10-MGD (detachable 10-passenger monocable gondola lift). Following the official entry into force of the approvals, the first excavators arrived on site in May 2026, and construction work commenced successfully.

With this forward-looking major project, Bergbahnen Samnaun AG continues to invest in enhancing the quality and comfort of the Silvretta Arena.

The new installation will run from Samnaun (Laret / Compatsch district) via an intermediate station at 1,966 m directly to Muller at 2,503 m. The top station will be located near the upper station of the existing Muller M2 six-seater chairlift.

After a construction period of two years, the new Laret L3 monocable gondola lift is scheduled to begin operations in November 2027.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS AT A GLANCE

PERFECT SKI-IN / SKI-OUT ACCESS
In the future, the lift will serve both as a state-of-the-art recreational lift and as a key access lift to the Silvretta Arena – Ischgl/Samnaun.

CUTTING-EDGE ROPEWAY TECHNOLOGY
The spacious 10-passenger D-Line cabins offer maximum riding comfort and excellent wind stability. Thanks to the detachable system, passengers also benefit from barrier-free, smooth, and highly comfortable boarding and alighting at all stations.

STRATEGIC INTERMEDIATE STATION
The two-section design ensures seamless integration with the Silvretta Arena.
Thanks to the intermediate station, guests are not required to ski all the way down to the valley. Winter sports enthusiasts can divide their descent flexibly and use either the upper or lower section independently as a dedicated recreational lift, according to their preferences.
