The
long, partly exposed trail runs close to the border throughout and requires
very good fitness. Along the mountain ridge, the compact gravel road winds its
way through high-alpine terrain. Some climbs are so steep that the bike has to
be pushed in places. After the Greitspitzbahn cable car, an outstanding trail
section follows, creating a special sense of freedom at over 2,700 metres. The
route runs along the ridge all the way to the Salaaser Kopf. The downhill
section then begins. The remote character of the route soon makes it clear why
smugglers once chose this path: apart from a few cows, hardly anyone is
encountered here. A relaxed forest road leads on to the Alp Trider Sattel
mountain station. The Trider Sattel Trail then provides varied downhill fun
again and leads to the destination, Alp Trida. From there, the Flimsattelbahn
cable car takes riders back to the starting point of the trail. Alternatively,
the Duty Free Trail is a good option for extending the ride.
With the railway station in Landeck, the Paznaun is optimally connected to the Austrian train network. From Landeck-Zams station, only a short bus ride separates you from the Paznaun. Every half hour, line bus 260 runs from there through the valley. Bus stop: Ischgl Silvrettabahn
