On 24 September 2025, the second edition of the Talent Meet took place at Paznaun Secondary School in Kappl. The aim of the event is to give young people practical insights into various professions and thus actively counteract the shortage of skilled workers in the region. Numerous companies presented their offerings and enabled the pupils to gain initial experience and direct insights into everyday working life.
Around 120 pupils from Years 3 and 4 at MMS Paznaun took the opportunity to get a taste of different fields of work – from skilled trades to the hotel and catering industry and hairdressing. A total of 13 businesses from Paznaun were represented, offering the pupils practical experience with job-related tasks.
The talent meeting was opened with a welcome speech by, among others, Andreas Juen, Director of MMS Paznaun, Thomas Köhle, Managing Director of the Paznaun-Ischgl Tourism Association, Daniela Lehmann, school quality manager, and Gerhard Kubin, branch manager of AMS Landeck. Afterwards, the pupils visited the various stations in small groups and on a rotational basis, gaining insights into the fields of activity of the various companies.
Practical exchange as a basis for promoting young talent and securing skilled workers
"The Talent Meeting offers our students a unique opportunity to experience first-hand the opportunities available to them in the region," emphasised Director Andreas Juen. "Getting to know the companies directly on site is an important step in making career profiles tangible and sparking interest."
TVB Managing Director Thomas Köhle also emphasised the importance of the event: "Securing skilled workers is one of the key challenges in Paznaun. The talent meeting is a successful example of how schools, businesses and the tourism association are working together to give young people prospects for the future."
The second edition of the talent meeting was a resounding success – both from the perspective of the students and the companies. This initiative makes a lasting contribution to promoting young talent and securing skilled workers in the region.
